This record is absolutely outstanding, "Could This Be Love" is a fresh soulful track with intense vocals from Stephanie Cooke, enriched with fantastic remixes from Jon Cutler, Groove Assassin and Sir Piers. The "Original mix" is a beautiful soulful-house track, with great keys and an infectious latin-jazz vibe, Jon Cutler provides a solid deeper remix, while Groove Assasin delivers an uplifting soulful rework, adding more pumpin' beats and catchy precussive grooves. Finally Sir Piers presnts a powerful remix for the dancefloor, enriched with wiked keys and an electronic influenced flavour. BBC Radio One and Toolroom's man of the moment Dave Spoon, returns with another electronic dancefloor bomb EP titled "88 EP". The title track is a powerful track with irresistible drivin' groove and old-skool rave break. Danny Tenaglia is back with his first compilation after 6 years, including his brand new single too. "Futurism" is an intense double CD with tracks from some of the hottest contempoary electronic house producers, all reworked by Tenaglia himself. What a great remixes package is this ! DJ Meme and Jovonn puts their hands on this 1994 soulful nuggett from Darryl D'Bonneau and the result is a fantastic package. DJ Meme's remix is a fresh and uplifting soulful affair with an infectious funky flavour, it has solid beats, great keys, sweeping strings and hot funky guitar. Jovonn goes deeper and hypnotic in his rework, adding some dark pads and an intense underground vibe. "Confused mind" is the second release by Monsieur Cedric on Gotta Keep Faith and it is another hot deep track provided in several versions. The Original mixes are solid house tracks with pumpin' beats, funky bassline and the half English and half Japanese lyrics performed by Mii. DJ Ciappy provides a deeper remix, while Dolls Combers delivers 3 versions ( Cocktail, Instrumental and Reproise) adding their trademark soulful vibe. Here's another powerful compilation for the clubbers, selected and mixed by top UK DJ and Producer Dave Spoon, this new release of the "Toolroom Knights" series on Toolroom Records is one of the best works. The double CD is a full dive into Clubland from the Main Room (CD 1) to the Basement (CD 2). Disc 1 is absolutely powerful, presenting a strong selections of peak-time, electro tracks from the likes of Sebastian Ingrosso & Laidback Luke, John Dahlback, Jerry Ropero, Zoo Brazil, Spoon Harris & Obernik and Antonie Clamaran, just to name a few. Disc 2 is a more alternative, sperimental and underground affair, with traks from Basement Jaxx, Midfield General, Tong & Spoon, Dizzee Rascal and many others.  (Franco Martinelli) 

The very active Barcoda Recordings returns with a very hot release from Andy Holder and Erik Dillard. "Jump for joy" is an intense soulful track with solid beats, great keys and infectious vocals performed by Erik Dillard. The package is also enriched with some hot remixes, Central Avenue provides a powerful and funky influenced remix, The Dhama Project delivers a deeper and electronic influenced rework, while Andy Holder himself, offers a stong broken beats remix. Another excellent value package from Gotta Keep Faith with two songs and five mixes of each. “Love Me” is a catchy song with a pleasant vocal. All the mixes are on point and whether it’s the guitars of the “Original”, the chords of “Rhody’s Mix” or the lovely keys of “Steve D’Angelo’s Mix”, there’s something for everyone. The “Original Swing Edit” is a classy jazz styled affair with dusty beats and terrific keys at a slower tempo that should work beautifully in a lounge environment. Moving on to “Star In The Blue”, another tuneful track and another five mixes to chose from. My pick of the mixes comes from Alex Garcia who stays close to the “Original” stylistically but using rhythms that seem to roll along effortlessly. If you like it deep then head straight for Franco Martinelli’s “Blue Deep Remix” and for the floor the strongest offering is probably the “Spiritual Blessings Dub”.  (review by Dean Serafini from Jjazzproject.com)

Cookie Monsterz provides a powerful rework, while Stereo Mutants delivers a groovy remix in their trademark style. With the Balearic tinged "Toccami di sera", DJ Hoffmana presents a magnificent, summery production on a laidback tip full of lovely melodies created by sweet guitar riffs, melodic keys and sexy vocals courtesy of SeeU. Blue Deep rework the track into a thumpin' yet soulful deep house affair, while Peat79's interpretation is a funkily groovin' affair. It is not easy to re-work a timeless classic like "I love America" (originally released by Patric Jouvet in the 70's) but DJ Meme confirms to be one of the best producer of out times and provides a real masterpece. The Brazilian talent reworks the track adding some solid house beats, warm percussive grooves, modern funky bassline, sweet synths, hot guitars, but leaves the 70's Disco vibe alive, thanks to an old-school orchestration and the intense Hanna Hais vocal performance. The new Papa Records release is "I'll wait" from Norvegian new talent Dalminjo, who teams up with vocalist Lenny Hamilton and provides this hot deep release, enriched with some solid remixes from New York's man of the moment Ian Friday. The "Original mix" is a solid track with an intense deep vibe, great keys and infectious vocals. The "Dalminjo remode mix" is a different and fresher affair, while Ian Friday takes the track in a totally different direction, adding his trademark organic beats and great Moog sounds. Japanese production team Orienta Rhythm teams up with legendary singer Joy Cardwell for their new release. "Happy" is a fesh and uplifting track for the summer, built on solid beats and funky bassline, enriched by the feels-good vocals from Joy Cardwell, great piano and hot synth chords. Seameless returns with this hot summert track from Swedish act Physics. "Hold on" is a warm, soulful affair with intense vocals, infectious keys, and some cool jazzy elements. Steve Lawler's Viva Series returns with an excursion to Toronto. In this double-disc mixed CD, Steve provides some of the sounds and the vibes of his annual event at the Guvurnment Club. CD 1 "Inside" represents the Club sounds and fuses modern teachno tracks from the likes of TG, Patrick Zigon, Christian Smith & John Selway, Alex Tepper and Joel Mull. CD 2 "Outside" represents the Terrace sets, where, after a 4 or 5 hours inside the event continues on the roof floor through the morning to midday. Serving up the 4th instalment of the Percepitions Of Pacha series is French house dj/producer Richard Grey who delivers a knockout selection of peak-time, electro-infused house tracks. The concept of "Percepitions Of Pacha" series is simple. CD 1 is a collective snapshot of artist's original productions, collaborations and remixes, while the CD 2 reflects off the club vibe, with full-lenght club versions and remixes. CD 1 kicks off with Richard's electro-killer remix of Michael Jackson anthem "Thriller", and also includes Richard Grey's reworks of Bob Marley's "No deputy", Shakira's "Las de la intuiction" as well as some of his tracks too, like the last year's Miami smash "Warped bass" with its familiar Soft Cell sample, the trippy "9am acid trip" and others. These two compilations are slices of house-music history, both produced and compiled by Curtis Urbina, presents a fantastic selection of tracks taken from the Quark Records catalouge. Founded in 1986, Quark Records shortly become one of the most respected and appreciated New York indipendent labels. The early days of house-music saw Quark Records very active on the New York scene, releasing some timeless House and Soulful-house classics. "The best of New York underground scene" includes all the early Quark Records gems, this CD is focused on the 1986/1989 period and presents beside the first release of this legendary label "Whatcha gonna do" by Blaze, timeless classics like Blaze's "You should need a friend" and "Can't win for losing", Raven Maize's "Together forever", Phase II's "Mistery", Jomanda's "Driftin" and others early house tracks from Finchley Road, Bou-Khan etc. "The best of Quark Vol.2" is more focused on the slammin' House-Club productions, so we can listen again to some late 80's house-music floorfillers like Bluejeans Regime's "In my house", Sheila's "Acid kiss", Larry Tee's "Love machine" and many others. Stereo Mutants provides a more groovy remix, adding warm but irresistible percussions, spacey filtered pads and hot synth bass. Not so strong as the beautiful Vincent Kwok's release we reviewed a few weeks ago, from my point of view, but this one is another hot record from California's Eighr 15 Recordings. Ben Jam's "Evidence" is a solid deep and pumpin' track with a few electronic influences in both Original and Jeremy Sylvester remix. The package also includes two remixes by Vincent Kwok, the "Innocent mix" is absolutely stunning, a beautiful soulful gem with an intense funky flavour, geat keys, sexy vocals and an infectious piano line, while the "Guilty mix" is a deeper and underground affair.  (Franco Martinelli)

Italy's well known production duo Arduini & Pagany are back with a wonderful soulful influenced funky gem titled "Show me how good". The "Philly's mix" is pure funky-soul delight, they re-creates a classic Philly-sound vibe with beautiful strings, irresistible funky bassline and the inspired vocals of Vale Ducros. The "House Bros anthem mix" is a funkier and pumpin' version for the dancefloor, while Fabio Tosti provides a deeper and groovy rework and Echo Motel delivers another excellent funky remix  (Franco Martinelli). 

"Take me" is the new release by Davidson Ospina, it is a solid funky track with an infectious deep flavour. The "Main mix" goes deep and underground, with solid beats, hot bassline, great pads and wicked keys that perfectly fits with the intense vocal performance by Danil. Top Lithuanian house music recording label RyRalio returns with a new release by Santi Touch. "Candle" is a solid groovy track provided in 3 hot versions. The "Original mix" is a powerful track for the dancefloor, it has an irresistible groove that fits perfectly with the wicked electronic elements enriched with some warm Rhodes and Saxophone parts. The "Spin Science remix" is a deeper and spacey affair, while the "Whare Wurlitzer dub" is a more hypnotic deep rework  (Franco Martinelli).

The 7th chapter of the "Southport Weekender" compilation series is going to see the light soon on suSU Records and it is another superb double CD with music selected and mixed by Germany's NuJazz pioneers Jazznova and UK's talent Mr Scruff. Jazznova's set is a fantastic music journey from the beginning to the end, they provides a very hot cuttin' edge jazzy set with great classy tracks from the likes of Badly Drawn Boy, Henrik Schwarz & Amampondo, Recloose, South Bronx Community Youth Project, Jazznova themself and many more. Mr Scruff's mixed set is another wonderful one, expecially for the listeners, he mixes together some long lost soul gems with new and favourite nuggets, providing a timeless set of beautiful and quality music. Italy's d:vision Records releases another top Stricltly Rhythm license, "Wondrous" by Danny Clark & Jay Benham ft. The "Original mix" is an irresistible funky track with infectious gospel inspired vocals from SuSu Bobien, ATFC delivers a pumpin' and more dubby remix for the dancefloor, adding some wicked electronic sounds. Marlon D & George Mena reworks this beautiful Jellybean Records 90's house classic "The lover that you are" by Pulse and provides an amazing set of remixes for the 2008. The duo delivers 6 brand new mixes, reworking the track in a very deep and sexy way. They took the brilliant original vocals from Antoniette Robertson and built an awesome deep house winner. George's keys are outstanding, enriched with laced strings, Marlon's deep basslines and solid grooves. This is going to be another top house track after more than a decade. (Franco Martinelli)

Roland Clark is back on King Street with "Life time" an hot house track with intense falsetto vocals, solid funky beats and infectious Hammond keys. Japan's DJ/Producer Daishi Dance provides a powerful remix for the dancefloor, while Italy's Doll Combers delivers a more soulful rework, enriched with classic 70's disco elements. After his recent "Skyscrapers" EP, Italian top funky man Fabio Bacchini returns with another solid funky EP for Discogalaxy. "Purple diamond" has all the classic elements of the pure Bacchini Funk Style, 4 solid tracks with an infectious 70's funky vibe, powerful basslines, great strings, hot funky elements and lot of energy. Phil Asher presents this new double-sided 2nd single from the Phlash & Friend forthcoming LP. The two tracks of this EP are different, but equally hot, "Look at what we've done" is an awesome, delicate and soulful track with great pads, warm synth keys, hot guitar and intense female vocals, enriched with some beautiful electric violin parts from Stella Page. Kenny Thomas returns on Soul-Fi with his new single "Sunshine girl", an hot soulful track enriched by the superb vocal performance of this top British singer. The "Fuzion vocal mix" is an intense version retouched by George Mena and Franke Estevez, it has an infectious summer/latin percussive groove, warm synth keys and beautiful pads. The new single from Spoon, Harris & Oberink "Baditude" is a solid and sexy track with a crossover potential. Pulsing beats, driving bass, acoustic guitar and the catchy Sam Oberink raw vocals are the main ingredients of this powerful track. The prolific Gotta Keep Faith deliver more high quality vibes, this time from Dom Navarra with assists from Monique Henry on vocals and a plethora of remixers. As usual there’s something to cover off most angles with Steve Paradise and Franco Martinelli and Da Fuzz keeping it deep, smooth and soulful. Spiritual Blessings and The Deepchords” take it deeper and dubbier with a little more oomph for the floor. It’s difficult to pick out a clear favourite which is a testament to the quality of the remixes but I reckon Franco Martinelli’s mix just shades it. (review by Dean Serafini from Jjazzproject.com)

Stalwart Records returns with a beautiful remixes package of DJ Fudge's 2005 success "Keep on" featuring Mani Hoffman on vocals. UK based trio Layabouts reworks the track and provides 3 solid remixes. The awesome "Re-Groove remix" has that infectious funky-soulful vibe that perfectly fits with Mani Hoffman's inspired vocals, while the Vocal Dub and Dubinstrumental versions are more direct, solid and pumpin' affairs. Italy's top funky-house producer Fabio Bacchini launch his new label, presenting "Skyscrapers" a total funky track enriched with hot remixes from Joey Youngman and Stacy Kidd. What a big surprise this new Pesto release, "Higher" by Sandra Lima is a beautiful soulful/funky track provided in various mixes, including a beautiful rework of West Coast top dj/producer Jay-J. The Jay-J remix is a fresher and uplifting affair, he built the track on a new percussive groove, enriched with funky guitar licks and warm Rhodes keys that perfectly fits with Sandra's slulful vocals. I first liten to this track on the Groove Delivers Myspace a few months ago, and now this lovely soulful and fresh tune is finally release on Beat Monkey Records. "Summer love" is a sweet and sexy tune with an intense and fresh, summer vibe, the "Original mix" is built on a solid funky groove, enriched with warm Rhodes keys, sweet strings, hot guitar and the emotional vocal performance by Kaysee. Germany's top Deep-house/Soulful producer Ralf GUM pleases us with his long awaited debut album. "Uniting music" is a fantastic soulful/deep house masterpiece, the 11 hot tracks are filled with warm jazzy, latin-house and soul elements that creates an irresistible and infectious vibe from the beginning to the end. All the latest Ralf's releases are included in the album, as well as some brand new tracks and remixes. All the tracks would deserve a mention from my point of view, and some of my favourite gems includes "Kissing strangers" feat. Monique Bingham, "If no harm" feat. Rachel Claudio, "Warrior" feat. Beate S. Lech, the sweet and intense "Baby let me" feat. Dennis Legree, the fresh "Parabatu", the classic "Easy" feat. Inaya Day and the new single "All this love for you" feat. Diamondancer. Souldynamic is absolutely one of the best soulful/deep production team in Italy today, their new release "Meant to be" is now out on Sun Soaked and features Nicole Tayler on vocals. Martin Solveig returns with another massive release, "C'est la vie" is a strong 80's synth-pop inspired track, enriched with some hot and powerful remixes for the dancfloor, provided by some top electro house producers, like John Dahlback and Freddie Le Grand. The "Original mix" reminds me some excellent Tom Tom Club 80's synth-pop sound, while the vocals has an infectious Prince's style flavour. "Lift him up" is a powerful Gospel House release from upcoming Swiss DJ/Porducer Toni Granello, who joint forces with top soulful vocalist Linda Lee Hopkins, for his debut on Map Dance label. TriCircle Soul continues its mission into the soulful/jazzy/lounge styles, providing this second beautiful release: "Smile EP" by Neo. Neo is talented French keyboarder/producer and this EP is a great jazzy influenced soulful gem. "Smile" is provided in 2 versions, the fresh and infectious "Album version" with its irresistible soul flavour and the outstanding vocal performance by Rudy Wilburn as well as the more underground, broken beats remix by Yukihiro Fukutomi. Taken from the forthcoming Ralf Gum's album "Uniting music", this new single titled "After this love for you" is another superb deep house track featuring Diamondancer on vocals and provided with a rich set of remixes courtesy of Rocco. Here comes another superb release from Soularis on Sun Soakes. This time Soularis teams up with Kenny Thomas, one of the best UK soul vocalists of the last 15 years. I cannot forget his fantastic singles "Thinking about your love", "Outstanding" , "Best of you" and "Trippin on your love" that I loved and played so much in the early 90's. Now Kenny Thomas confirms he is still a stallar singer, providing a superb vocal performance in this new track. Italian EM Recordings is back with another beautiful soulful/deep track titled "Let me go". The new release is little gem provided by Matt Sofo, who teams up with vocalist Carmen. One of the hottest Midem Sampler of this year comes from italian recording label Paprika. This soulful/funky 4 tracks vinyl is simply awesome, with cuts from Abstarct Soul, DJ Neo and Housejack. Abstarct Soul provides 2 outstanding soulful track enriched by the passionate vocals of M.A.R.A. "The boss" is an infectious soulful track with solid beats, great keys, jazzy piano and warm strings, while "Any love" is a more funkier affair, with hot guitars and powerful bassline. For their last release on MN2S, Danism teams up with legenday house singer Kenny Bobien and presents an excellent soulful-vocal track titled "Feelin' you". Groove Junkies returns witn another outstanding release on their MoHo Recordings label. "Work it out" is a beautiful funky and 70's inspired piece of modern soulful house music. The "GJs Main mix" is an awesome version with solid beats, hot rhythm guitars, great synth keys and fantastic 70's strings, enriched by warm saxophone drops and the superb vocal performance of Wendy Brune. For his new release, Davidson Ospina provides a brand new track featuring Linda Clifford on vocals. "What you like" is an hot funky house tune taken from Ospina's forthcoming album and is served in 4 mixes. German Recording label Diamondhouse presnts a new sublabel called Diamondhouse Lounge and a brand new compilation series dedicated to the Lounge/Chillout sounds with a Deep/Soulful house edge. The first CD of this series includes an impressive selection of tracks focused esentially on the Warm Lounge sounds and featuring artists like Stereo Mutants, Afterlife, Living Room, Melchyor A, Murasca & Duke, just to mention a few. "Diamondhouse Lounge Vol.1" ranges from Chill Out over Bossa Nova, to Chillhouse and back again. This is an essential set of music for the Chillout/Lounge situations.  (Franco Martinelli) 

Ralphski's new release on Mutated Music is an hot house track feturing Kristie Glab on vocals and titled "Keep me awake". The package is provided with some very strong remixes, top Brazilian DJ/Producer DJ Memè delivers 2 excellent, uplifting versions for the dancefloor, adding some great real strings and pumpin' beats. Stereo Mutants goes deeper and groovy in their 2 remixes, using lots of percussions and intense pads that perfectly fits with the beautiful Kristie's vocals. Behind Deep Y'all there's top French deep house DJ/producer DJ Rico. "Deeper sound factory project" is a very strong EP with not less than four new titles completed by some remixes for a total of eight tracks. "Funk Master in the house" is a solid deep track with an infectious and funky flavour, enriched with some great sax parts in the remix version. The "Pump deep vibe mix" of "Funky days" is a minimal funky affair, while the "BSC botina remix" is a more classic re-work. "House muzik will never die" is a quality underground and deep track, that sees the light of sun in the brighter Fuzz remix. This 2 CD album includes 30 quality house tracks, floating from the peak-time pumpin' cuts to the more underground, deeper tracks. CD 1 "The Hot Peakness" is focused on the bigroom floors of the clubs and includes some very strong tracks like Yass ft. L T Brown's "I'm ferre", Andy Caldwell's "Warrior", the fresh latin influenced "Brazilian soul" by Brazilian Soul Crew, plus tracks from artists like Wahoo, Granite & Phunk, Echo Motel, Justin Michael, Adam K & Soha, Per QX and many others. CD 2 "The Warm Deepness", goes deeper, a 15 tracks mixed set with cuts from Danny Marquez, Charles Spencer, Nagano Kitchen (Jerome Sydenham & Hideo Kobayashi), Tiger Stripes, Blaze vs. Funk D'Void and Manuel Tur, just to name a few.  (Franco Martinelli)

Here’s another slice of soulful house that’s designed to please and delivers on all fronts. The package boasts five versions which I’ll cover in no particular order. The “Original Mix” is built on a platform of crisp beats and a throbbing bassline with a combination of synths and keyboards. The production provides the perfect backdrop for the beautiful vocals of Robina. Javier Varez retains the basic chassis of the track but drops in an unusual but effective percussion whilst subtle yet changes to the arrangement alter the flavour. Javier Lopez delivers a fierce interpretation complete with striking synths and stronger beats providing a true main room vibe. Franco Martinelli’s “Blue Deep Remix” ticks every box in my book with a rhodes infused groove and live bassline that provide a truly uplifting experience for both the casual listener and dance floor. Finally, “Mel Rosario’s Dub” takes a different route with a sound that’s close to the best of the early speed garage productions over a decade ago and some serious sub-bass. I really like the track and particularly appreciate the manner in which all the remixes are respectful to the original production. Hermosa Records is back with a fresh new release spreading an heavy summer vibe. Justin Michael and Secret Soul team up with singer Gina Rene and the result is this awesome soulful track titled "Celebration of music" , provided in a rich package including several mixes for a total of 14 tracks. The "Original mix" is a solid soulful track with a fresh summer/latin vibe, Born To Funk re-works the tune adding their trademark funky touch, Conan Liquid goes deeper and darker, while Random Soul delivers an uplifting soulful remix. What a great return for Aydin Hasirci aka ATFC. His new release "Ya killin me" on Toolroom Records is a massive EP set up to rock the dancefloor. Already played and supported by Pete Tong, this essential club monster, includes beside the powerful title track, another killer track titled "Mothership". DJN Project teams up with vocalist Rick Galactik and releases this intense soulful-deep track titled "I feel for you" on Open Bar Music. The beautiful Kimara Lovelace's track "When can our love begin" rises from the depths od the King Street vault to see the new light of day. This classic house tune has been remixed by UK's talented jazz-soul-funk producer and DJ, Richard Earnshaw, who provides a stunning funky remix, adding solid beats, wicked organ stabs and hot percussive elements that perfectly fits with the great soulful vocal performance of Kimara Lovelace. The new Ananda Project release on Nite Grooves is a great 2 songs EP including some very hot remixes of "When the music takes you" and "Stay as you are". The Pasta Boys remix of "When the music takes you" is simply beautiful, they take the track to another level, adding their trademark elements, pumpin' deep beats, infectious synth and rolling rhythm. The "Dub mix" has less vocals but is enriched with some extra synths and an irresistible percussive groove. French newcomer producer DJ Floy debuts on TriCircle with a very hot track titled "Over the hills" and provided in 7 mixes. There's something for everybody in this rich package. Kemistry are Soy Mustafa and Alex Cellar, the two North London producers mark their debut on NRK with this solid, deep and electronic influenced two tracks ep. GoGo music starts the new year with another hot release, this time Ralf GUM teams up with NY top singer Monique Bingham and the result is the beautiful "Kissing strangers". The "Original mix" is a super brilliant soulful track with an infectious deep flavour and solid funky beats, enriched by the superb vocal performance of Monique Bingham. The remixes comes courtesy of Franke Feliciano, who provides an intense and groovy version without losing the soulful vibe and Raw Artistic Soul, who delivers a dope, deeper and quite minimal mix. Kimara Lovelace is back in action with a brand new release on Newlite Music, produced by UK duo Sueno Soul. "Merry go round" is an excellent soulful track priovided in 4 mixes. The"Original mix" is a classic soulful affair, enriched by the great vocals of Kimarl Lovlace, Domenico Navarra's "Dom's spaced dub" is a deeper version, with intense underground sounds and an infectious percussive groove. It took a long time but finally this vocal-house gem from Soul 7 is available on 989 Records. The beautiful voice of Cheryl Prorter shines in all the four mixes included in this strong package. The record starts with the "Ciko & Zuli Main mix", a brilliant gospel flavoured version with a kickin bassline, uplifting piano chords and warm sax solo, DJ Fopp provides an excellent soulful mix with great keys and solid beats, while Fabio "funky touch" Bacchini delivers a powerful rework with an irresistible funky flavour. Kenny Dope and Terry Hunter joint forces and presents "Mass destruction EP" a very interesting release where the two veterans of the house music scene conbines old and new "sounds & beats" to create something really unique. Lez is a South African rising talent and "When I fall" is his latest single and big 2007 underground hit. Now Waking Monster releases a remix package of this track. Gotta Keep Faith returns with another fantastic soulful house masterpiece, this time courtesy of Pablo DJ aka Logicalgroove who provides an intense and irresistible soulful house track featuring the great vocals of Savio Vurchio. Christian Hornbostel and Keith Thompson joint forces again for this brand new single on Reelgroove. "Hypnotic love" is a pumpin' house track with an infectious latin flavour, hot saxophone and sexy sopoken-word female vocals. Soussol returns with a fantastic release from This Is Rhythm. "No strings" is a beautiful soulful track provided in 3 mixes, the "Main mix" is an awesome soulful affair with great Rhodes keys, soft strings, warm bassline and beautiful male and female vocals from Reilly and Natalie Williams. Steal Vybe delivers another soulful gem, his mix is enriched with precious jazzy piano keys, soft synths and brand new groove and bassline. This is an infectious number infused with compelling keys, solid percussion, a simple bassline and strong melodies. There are three vocal versions and a dub included, with the vocal versions built on the platform of keys and vocals. The dub revolves around a beefed up bass groove with a little extra drive in the percussion making it ideal for a packed floor. I can't make up my mind whether the terrific keys of the "Club Mix" or the driving rhythms of the "Dub Mix" shade it, but either way this is another quality release from Franco Martinelli and Massimo Sottini.  (review by Dean Serafini from Jjazzproject.com)

Roland Clark's new single on King Street is a very hot swingin' jazzy house tune and features a couple of strong remixes from Mr. V and 5 Beats. The "Original mix" is an infectious piano-driven, old school inspired track with an uplifting mood and great vocals from Roland Clark. The last 2 Lovemonk releases are very interesting records. Let's start with the new track from Jecko Turner, an awesome 7" taken from his last album. "Monosabio blues" is a beautiful NuSoul track sung by Eska Mtungwazi. The B side features a trippy and electronic remix by Philip Owusu. The second release is Soul Vigilantes new EP, this record includes two hot track served in various mixes. "Do it like Roger" is an irresistible funky track in its Original mix, while is a powerful electro influenced verison in the Elektrons remix. The other cut is an infectious soul track titled "When I go to bed" by Aqeel, provided in Original and Griffi mixes.  (Franco Martinelli) 

After blessing us throughout the summer with the lovely "Beach Music" series, AX Music Records return with a lovely production titled "My fantasy" courtesy of Soulfood and Deby who provides a sultry vocal performance that is accompanied by great jazzy keys, all nicely arranged over a smoothly stormin', funk spiced backing groove. The 'Club Mix' strips part of the vocals to let the keys to the talk, while the 'Dub Mix' takes the track to deeper grounds. Gotta Keep Faith returns with another beautiful soulful/deep masterpiece. "Release the beauty" by Rhody & Kaydee is an outstanding track provided in several strong versions. The "Original mix" is solid piano driven track with a warm percussive groove, great strings and that infectious uplifting vocals. The "D3 silky re-work" is a solid funky remix with a soulful edge, while Melchyor A provides a classy and deeper version. OGC delivers a pumpin' remix, whilst the "George Neufeld's bar mix" is a cool and smoother affair. This is an awesome release. Spencer Collective's "Music" is a beautiful track with an irresistible "disco" flavour. The "Original mix" is simply outstanding, a solid and uplifting funky track with an infectious old school "disco" vibe and great "disco" vocals. Heart'n'Soul reworks the track and provides a more club/house remix, adding some classic house elements but keeping the great "disco" flavour still alive. Twisted Rhythm remixes the track as well and delivers a pumpin' and driven funky-house version. K Scope is the Eric Kupper techy alter-ego. This new K Scope EP on Nite Grooves is a very strong electronic/deep house release. We alredy appreciated the first part of Keith Thompson's "Borders don't matter", now is time for the second part and it is another brilliant release. Thompson's vocals are soaring and stong and the remixes are very hot. Central Avenue provides a solid and intense funky re-work for the dancefloor, while DJ Nemin delivers a cool, groovy and ethnic influenced version. Spiritchaser are back on Guess Records with a superb deep and atmospheric EP titled "Spiritlevel 1". "As we fall" is an intense atmospheric track combing crisp beats with warm pads, spacey effects and a simple yet effcetive spoken word. "Coast" is a deeper affair, a beautiful instrumental track with great pads, warm sub basses and hot synth lines. The new Stalwart release comes from Switzerland dj/producer Steven Stone. "Music sounds so good with you" is an hot soulful track in its Original mix, with solid beats, infectious bassline, hot funky guitar and the inspired soulful vocal performance of David B Whitley. Dom Navarra adds his personal latin influenced touch in his remix and provides an intense soulful track enriched with warm latin percussions and an hot acoustic guitar. Deep Haven keeps releasing quality music, this single from Rita Quintero entitled "Quiero saber" is a hot latin tinged track with a deep edge. The "Sterling mix" is an intense version spreading a relaxin' summer vibe, with infectious pads, great piano, strings and an hot vocal performance. The "Bargrooves" series returns with another fantastic compilation titled "The autumn collection", selected and mixed by Ben Sowton. The original Bargroove sound of deep, jazzy and funky house music is well represented here. Sowton mixes two irresistible sets including both sides of Bargrooves sound, from funky, uplifting vocal-house tracks to deep, techy and dub cuts. Looking at the tracklist we can find tracks from artists such as Soularis, Physics, Hanna Hais, Kings Of Groove, Ananda Project, Soul Central, Vincent Kwok, Liquid People, Michelle Weeks, Afrodrops and many others. Jellybean Soul releases the remixes versions of both Kem's biggest singles "Heaven" and "Love calls". Marlon D reworks "Heavan" providing a beautiful, laidback version with an intense deep vibe. He transforms this soft ballad, to a groovy and jazzy influenced deep house winner. The Darryl James remixe of "Love calls" is also very hot, he gives the track a classic soulful house vibe, delivering a solid and essential mix for the soulful dancefloors. Dan Liquid and Dan Nu:Tone (aka Danism) returns on MN2S with another powerful track titled "Mesmerize" featuring Malaysian singer Haze on vocals. Tiger Stripes are responsable for this fantastic remix of Dennis Ferrer's track "P2DaJ". The Swedish team, completely re-works the track, adding dirty synth stabs, gritty chords and an intense dark vibe. The result is an irresistible and hypnotic electronic underground remix for the dancefloor. CeCe Rogers returns with this new gospel inspired track titled "By faith" on USB. Combining gospel with house is nothing new to CeCe, but such a pleasure for the listeners. Deep Haven Records is on fire lately and provides hot releases back to back. Their new one is "Justified" by Arnold Jarvis remixed by Blvd East . James Rivera & Christian Perez (BlvdEast) takes this classic Jarvis song and re-build it, adding their trademark elements and the result is very hot. Melchyor A is back on Gotta Keep Faith with the remixes package of one of his hottest track made for the italian label. "Fonk muzik" remixes comes courtesy of Georg Neufeld who provides an hipnotic and irresitible rework, Alex Dimitri who delivers a cool, funky and pumpin' version and Carl Michael who's responsable for two different but equally beautiful soulful influenced remixes. It’s difficult to know where to begin as there are nine mixes to choose from here… Anyway here goes: Blue Deep is none other than Franco Martinelli and I must confess that I’ve got material he produced from way back and hadn’t managed to put two and two together. As is typical of Franco’s productions, what you get is beautifully crafted, melodic deep house that’s great for building atmosphere or for when you need to drop the tempo a little. I could play this stuff all night if all that mattered was my own enjoyment. The remixes cover off a number of different angles; Grantorino’s version boats a cranked up deep bassline that rumbles along with a sweaty dark room vibe that’s sure to do some serious damage. Jack In Da Box take things off in a funkier direction with a combination of rhodes, bass and guitars before dropping in some unexpected keys halfway through. OGC capture a Chicago-esque kind of groove with quirky guitars and strong synths. Somehow though, with all this choice I keep coming back to Franco’s “Main Vocal Mix”. I guess though it all comes down to taste, venue and time when picking out your own favourite mix – take your pick of the mixes, this is house music of the highest order.  (review by Dean Serafini from Jjazzproject.com)

This is a great comeback for Under My Skin, Nikos teams up with K'bana Blaq, the lead singer of the Fuzz band and together they provides "Making me high", an intense deep vocal track that is also the theme song of a new indipendent movie out of New York called "Finding me". The package includes, beyond the beautiful Original mix a rich set of remixes and dubs. Nikos himself delivers a percussive and ethnnic influenced "Juju dub" as well as a solid "Unrelated dub". Rocco adds an infectious soulful vibe to his smooth and deep rework, while Lars Behrenroth goes even deeper and underground. Featuring vocalist Sacha, "Time" is an intense broken beats affair, enriched with a sultry and raw vocal. EM Recordings returns with another stunning deep release, provided this time by top Colombian DJ/Producer DjAX. "Like a dream" is a solid, deep influenced groovy track delivered in two hot mixes. The "Original Mix" has an irresistible percussive groove, deep bassline, warm Rhodes keys and is eneriched by sweet trumpet drops and passionate female vocals. Hot wax from Poland ! Loco Records presents this interesting EP from Martin Harmony titled "The essence". The record begins with "The essence pt.1" that is an unusual but effective combination of house rhythms and mystic/oriental influenced sounds. Jaffa Music's 3th release is "Sala" by Nicolas Vautier featuring the African soul singer Blick. The latest release on Gotta Keep Faith is produced by Franco Martinelli, with sweet vocals supplied by Neja C. Lots of mixes to choose from, with the main version being on a soulful tip that gets taken to deeper grounds on the atmospheric 'Deep Space Mix' and 'Balearic Dub', with the later one spreading more warmness. I’ve been meaning to sit down and listen to this EP properly for about a week now and it’s only now that I’m beginning to realise that I’ve deprived myself by doing so. If you’ve experienced the first two “Beach Music” releases, this is an essential addition to your collection, if not you need to find out what you’ve been missing. All three tracks had me hooked from first listen to the point that I sometimes skim over new material first time around but couldn’t bring myself to do so with this. Japanese's Studio Apartment returns on King Street, this time teaming up with massive NJ house producers Blaze to provide another soulful-house gem. This old track from Simon Grey ft. Kylie Auldist sees the light again thanks to Double Shock Records who releases a strong package with the 2007 remixes of "One". Simon Grey himself is responsabile for one of the hottest remixes, he provides the beautiful "2007 remix" while Leisure Groove delivers another favourite, the awesome, soulful and infectious "Leisure Groove Soulful remix". Unfortunately, the summery season has come to an end, but AX Music extend it for us with the third (and last) EP in their "Beach Music" series courtesy of Soulfood who present Waterfalls. This is an essential house release ! Written and produced by Kerri Chandler, this 4 tracks EP is a real bomb, all the tracks are solid pieces of house music, enriched with an infectious deep vibe. Mood II Swing are back on Strictly Rhythm a few months later the release of their beautiful "Passin time" single and provides another great track titled "It's gonna work out". Featuring singer Lauren on vocals, this track is another beautiful example of modern and pumpin' vocal-house, with solid beats, powerful bassline and wicked synth sounds. "Deep spiritual journey" is a deeper and darker affair provided in 2 hot versions. Shlomi Aber and Itmar Sagi provides a killer, electronic and dark track titled "Blonda", a kind of minimal, progressive, acid and techno misture that originates this irresistible, hypnotic and trippy track. Soul-Fi Records debuts with a beautiful release, "Keep the fires burning" by Kenny Thomas is a cover of the 1980's Gwen McCrae smash hit and it is absolutely one of my favourite soulful tracks of the moment. The package includes some solid Original versions as well as a couple of very strong remixes from Richard Earnshaw and Tony Economides. The original Playground mixes are pure funky-house bombs, Kenny's silky smooth vocals are beautiful, while the funky guitars and the sweeping strings gives the track a fresh disco flavour. Liquid People are back on MN2S with another strong release. "Truth is" is a pumpin' house track featuring Xavier on vocals, the "Electro soul mix" has solid bouncy beats, deep groovy bassline and sweet chords, while the "Dub mix" goes darker and deeper. King Street releases the new remixes package of "Shining your way" by Jephte Gullaume ft. AK. Physics returns on Bargroove with the next single from their forthcoming Seamless album, with the beautiful "It's all good to me" remixed by Matthias Heilbronn. Matthias reworks are very hot, he combines some warm electronic synth sounds with classic soulful elements and the result is awesome. The "Sunflower mix" is the concrete example of this, a solid track with pumpin' synth bass, delicate keys, great piano and beautiful soulful vocals. AX Music continue to celebrate the summery season of the year with the second EP in their "Beach Music" series, offering three more tracks courtesy of Soulfood who present Waterfall. This is the second instalment in the Beach Music series, the first of which I lavished praise upon a few weeks back. This time around there are three further tracks to choose from kicking off with "Ocean Waves" complete with its endearing keys and smooth strings. "Sandy Beaches" has a strong bass groove and a mellow vibe that makes you dream of blue skies and golden sands. "Rounding things off "Playa Del Sol" has another cracking bassline, crisp beats and more keys and synths. Athens based producer DSF debutes on Prog City Deep with an hot, melodic house track titled "Cover letters". "Safari" is the title of the amazing Tiger Sripes debut album on Nite Grooves. Mikael Nordgren puts together 12 quality tracks, providing a very strong and eclectic music selection, a mixture of dark electronic sounds, latin and afro fused jazzy riffs, warm soulful tunes and much more. All the tracks are very good but some deserves a special mention, I'm speaking of the beautiful and sweet "Song for Edit" feat. Kerri Chandler, the fresh and infectious "Consecration" feat. Back in the day, proper house music originated in the USA, either from Chicago or NYC. Then the Italians came along at the end of the eighties and tore up the rulebook turning house music into a global phenomenon. Nearly twenty years on Italy's Ax Records' fourth release is a three track EP which has all the depth and soul I've come to love in house. All three tracks are distinctive: "Sailing" is a warm yet moody number with female vocals and classic strings. "Clear Water" combines traditional pianos with a throbbing sub-bass vibe, gregorian chants and a variety of effects.think Innocence from twenty years back. Karizma combines perfectly the smooth and delicate soulful songs with the darker and underground deep tracks and some cool broken-beats and jazzy influenced cuts. He provides a very intense and infectious set of pure underground music, playing tracks like "Son of raw" by Dennis Ferrer, "The light" by Raw Artistic Soul ft. UPZ are back with another quality release on soWhat Records, this time they teamed up with vocalist Roy Young and the result is this "black" and Funky track with an infectious old school R&B vibe. Polish top DJ and poroducers Karol XVII & MB Valence presents their new release on Loco Records. "Don't forget" is a solid funky track provided in several versions and featuring Paige Central on vocals. Some of my favourite mixes includes the "Original mix", a classic uplifting vocal-house tack with pumpin' beats and powerful funky bass, the deeper "MB Valence Dark & Deep remix", the infectious "Scibi remix" and the disco influenced "Soul Tunes oldschool mix". Out on Fuzion Recordings, this EP from Mena Keys ft. Franke Estevez has a very fresh summer vibe, where solid funky beats meets cool latin/jazz elements and smooth deep sounds. "G plays it cool" is an awesome, uplifting, jazzy influenced summer track with great brass section, wicked sax hook, latin percussive elements, and beautiful piano solo. The "SunSoaked remix" is a wonderful piece of uplifting vocal house with an infectious soulful vibe, great Rhodes keys, solid beats, cool strings and stunning vocals. James Bryan presents his new release on Inevitable Records, "Beautiful world" is a wonderful soulful house track with great vocals from Re'nee Wynter and warm atmospheres courtesy of Andy Lee aka Central Avenue who provides a fantastic version, adding his trademark soulful touch with infectious Rhodes keys, solid beats and funky bassline. Todd Terry joint forces with a few old time friends like Kenny Dope, DJ Sneak, Terry Hunter and Tara McDonald for the release of this hot new track. "Get down" is a classic piece of vocal funky house, Terry provides a few versions in his classic house style, while Kenny Dope adds 3 powerful funky remixes, including a killer groovy dub. For all the people who loves the Brazilian music atmospheres, here's a fantastic release from Wave. "Alma - The soul of Brazil in New York" is an awesome 13 tracks compilation full of warm tropical sounds, bossa rhythm and inspired Brazilian vocals, combined with urban-funky and underground elements, creating a very cool soulful and jazzy vibe. The cd alternates uplifting tropical and sunny tracks with late night, somkey, underground cuts into a beautiful musical journey. NRK releases two great "Unreleases Projects EP", the first one includes some cool soulful/deep tracks from artists like Kerri Chandler, who provides a beautiful "Stripped Down mix" of his track "The Promiose". Trackheadz presents 2 tracks, a smooth Instrumental version remixed by Mr.V of "Feel" and the "Kaje's 2006 remix" of their deep house anthem "Our music". The package also includes "Pump dance", a powerful Chicago house track remixed by Ron Carroll and the soulful gem from Miguel Migs "Mesmerized" remixed by Alix Alvarez. Soularis are back with another soulful gem on their own Sun Soaked label. "Back together" is a cover of the classic Donny Hataway & Roberta Flack track and is provided in four beautiful mixes featuring Pete Simpson and Mandy Edge on vocals. DAVIDSON OSPINA & D'LAYNA "Ladadi (dada)" (Ospina Digital)

"Ladadi (dada)" by Davidson Ospina & D'Layna was my favourite track from the Ospina Records WMC Sampler and now this great track is released as single with addictional mixes from Central Avenue, Enrico Mantini and Clemens Rumpf. The "Original mix", that we all already know, is a beautiful piece of uplifting soulful house, Central Avenue provides a more funky infected version, adding wicked piano keys and guitar. The "Enrico Mantini remix" is a pumpin' dub enriched with soft electronic elements while Clements Rumpf delivers a simple and effective groovy re-work.  (Franco Martinelli)

OS MALANDROS "Para na wey" (Papa) 

"Para na wey" by Os Malandros is a fresh latin tinged track for the summer, out on Papa Records. The "Main mix" is a Brzilian infused track with lots of percussions samba style and infectious ethnic vocals. This is another great track coming from US USB Records, "Everybody dance" marks the twenty year anniversary of the collaboration of CeCe Rogers and Marshall Jefferson and it is a classic, powerful funky house track enriched by the awesome and inspired vocal performance of CeCe Rogers. The new Dario D'attis release is another strong funky track featuring Freda Godlett on vocals. This powerful package is completed with 3 great remixes by MoD as well as 2 useful dj Tool tracks. "Living my life" was one of my favourite cuts from Spinna's album "Intergalactic soul" and finally this beautiful track is out as a single. "Livin' my life" sees Spinna team up with New York singer Tricia Angus to deliver a sublime slice of soulful house. The release also includes the fantastic remix of The Realm (aka Toni Economides and Oli Lazarus) who provides a stunning soulful gem, adding warm Rhodes keys as well as a driven groove, infectious bassline and soft synth lines. Ultra Deep Boys deleivers an excellent and fresh EP for USB Records, "Just Chillin" has an infectious chill summer feel, the 3 tracks combines perfectly the deep sounds with latin and jazzy elements and the result is simply awesome. "La musica" is a relaxing deep track with a cool spanish guiatr and female latin spoken words, "Mi corazon" is a more pumpin' deep affair while "Brazilazz" is a groovy latin thing with a warm percussive groove, great rhodes keys, piano, horns and an infectious male vocal line.  (Franco Martinelli)

This hot 2001 track from Inaya Day and Native Son receives the Ralf GUM and ChrisP remix treatment for its GoG Music release. The result is an infectious deep release provided in 3 mixes, the Main remix version is a beautiful combination between the brilliant spiritual vocals of Inaya Day and the deep and electronic influenced sounds created by Ralf Gum & ChrisP. The "Acid soul dub" is simply a reduced, instrumental versions, while a useful beats tool is also included in the package.  (Franco Martinelli) 

BJ Experience's "I like it like that" is the new release on Pret A Porter Music, the package includes 3 brand new mixes of this awesome track that features the great vocal performance of Jocelyn Brown. The "Mr Bords vouge club mix" is a cool soulful influenced re-work, it has an infectious uplifting vibe, great piano, hot strings and solid funky beats. "Seven tracks in seven days" is the new beautiful solo LP of Steve Jones of Dubtribe Sound System on King Street Sounds. This album is an awesome journey into the underground, it sounds deep and hypnotic, dark and intense, a perfect combination of house rhythm, warm deep sounds, electronic elements and spacey pads. All the tracks are very hot some of my favourite includes the relaxing and intense "We are free" with its beautiful piano, the solid and trippy "We believe" and the funkly influenced "I surender".  (Franco Martinelli)  

Sergio Flores teams up with Mitomi Tokoto for this new release on Purple Music Tracks. "Hold on" is a fresh, uplifting and groovy track, the "Vocal mix" has an irresistible percussive groove, classic piano keys and some wicked electronic elements as well as a catchy vocal line. Renaissance provides another quality electronic house release, "The tucan ep" by Martin Eyerer and Stephan Hinz is a very strong record. Right in time for summer, Soulfood return with an uplifting vocal track.
